Aquarium Trip Nov. 30, 2008

We took a trip to the aquarium, it was a rainy quiet saturday and took advantage of the day off.
The kids love to pose, touch the sting rays and play with the tide pool creatures...

We came home and the kids were in a great mood, they decided to dress up in Daddy's shoes. What does it feel like to be in Daddy's shoes???

Another Marine Corps Ball November 15, 2008

The ball took place 2 weeks after Shawn came home and it was our little getaway. It took place at the Marriott in Atlantic Beach. The food as usual was so-so, but we had a good time. I finally bought a new dress this year, a decent one, and I am planning on using it for the next 3 years or so. I hate looking for dresses, they are so expensive and very innapropriate, and of course they don't fit right most of the time. Oh well.

We had a good time and spent some little alone time, the kids spent the night with our good friends the Osmonds.

Daddy Comes Home November 2, 2008

Big Hugs from Daddy, yes of course I was crying taking the pictures!!! But I don't have that on camera.

It was Daddy, and he was calling out cadence and marching out the unit to meet us. I had to keep the kids back. Jake was finally realizing why we were so excited, he could not believe he was actually going to see Daddy!

Wait the marine to the right side kind of looked like Daddy, could that be him????

Finally they started marching toward us, we were jumping up and down!!!!

I decided I needed to have a few pictures of Daddy Coming Home

We waited for about 2 1/2 hours at the VMU2 Hangar, Jake thought he was so cool because I let him have his own can of sprite. Big mistake, he asks for his own all the time now! There was a jumpy and lots of junk food for the kids, but we were all so excited we just sat and waited for a while.

Ok, I need to get this started. Shawn was so great to get it going and I have not been very good about keeping it up to date. Sorry honey!
I think we left off right after Shawn came home from Iraq. It was in November sometime. So I will start with Thanksgiving. I don't have actual Thanksgiving pictures ( I forgot my camera) but I'll post what we did.
We went over to our good friends home (more like my good friend, because both of our husbands have been deployed on and off since we have moved in to the ward, so they never really have had a chance to know each other). Anyways we spent a fun evening at their place (The Volcanseks) with lots of yummy food! Diane is an awesome cook, I never realized it because most of the time I have known her, her husband has been deployed and we both don't cook when hubbies are gone. We had a great time. The Swans joined in the fun for desserts and we all had good laughs! All in all the kids had a good time. We ate good food and we gave many thanks for being so blessed to have Daddy home just in time for all the holidays, for having such great friends, and for our health.
